LITTLE FALLS 1, MORRISVILLE-EATON 0

The Little Falls Mounties will defend their Sauquoit Valley Booster Club Tournament championship Saturday afternoon after they beat Morrisville-Eaton 1-0 in Thursday’s opening round.

The Mounties meet the Sauquoit Valley Indians at 1 p.m. Saturday in a rematch of last year’s championship game which Little Falls won by a 2-0 score. Sauquoit Valley defeated Mohawk 2-1 in Thursday’s other tournament game. Sauquoit Valley was a 4-0 winner at home earlier this season against Little Falls.

Mohawk and Morrisville-Eaton play the consolation game Saturday at 11 a.m.

Teddi Fallis scored for Little Falls (7-6-0) Thursday with an assist from Rachel Demeree. Goalie Kristi Torres made four saves in the shutout.

Jesse Woodruff had two saves for Morrisville-Eaton.

SAUQUOIT VALLEY 2, MOHAWK 1

SAUQUOIT, N.Y. — Alyssa Orsino scored both goals for Sauquoit Valley Thursday and the Indians defeated the Mohawk Mohicans 2-1 in the first round of the Sauquoit Valley Booster Club Tournament.

All of the scoring was done in the first half.

Erika Parker made three saves for the Indians (5-7-1).

Alex Bandel scored for the Mohicans (5-7-0) with an assist from Chloie Rood. Goalie Anna Carroll made two saves.
