Carson Murphy had 24 points an 13 rebounds Wednesday in the Mohawk Mohicans’ 74-41 win over the Ilion Golden Bombers.
The Mohicans (12-1) outscored Ilion (8-4) 16-7 in the second quarter and opened a 15-point halftime lead on their way to a second win over their potential future teammates. The schools were part of proposed three- and four-district mergers that were rejected voters over the last 12 months and have a two-way proposal to be voted on in February.
Kainan McCarthy added 12 points and 16 rebounds for Mohawk. Mike Santillo and Paul Joyce scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, and Brandon Brault had eight off the bench.
Herschel Ivey led the Golden Bombers with 11 points. Ryan Lachacz had eight points and 12 rebounds.
