Herkimer County Community College has announced the appointment of David Kramer as interim men’s lacrosse coach for 2010-2011.

Kramer, who resides in Mohawk, previously served as an assistant lacrosse coach at Hamilton College under former Generals coach Scott Barnard. He was head coach at The Queen Anne School in upper Marlboro Maryland where he led the Lions to their first playoff victory in the school’s history. He also served as lead assistant coach at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Md.

Kramer holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Massachusetts where he was a two-year starter and a four-year letter winner as a defensive midfield and a faceoff specialist. The Lake Ronkonkoma native was a member of Sachem High School’s 1993 New York State championship team and 1995 New York State finalist team. In 1995 Kramer was elected to the all-division and all-Suffolk County team as a midfielder and was selected to play in the exceptional senior game.

“David has a wealth of lacrosse experience,” athletic director Donald Dutcher said, “and I am confident he will provide excellent leadership for the program and our student-athletes.”

Kramer replaces Richard Dommer who resigned in July after four years as head coach for the Generals.
