Mike Gray and Brandon Layler’s relatively easy win at second doubles gave Mount Markham a 3-2 win over Westmoreland in a CSC West boys tennis match Monday afternoon.
Gray and Layler defeated Josh Deptola and Tyler Voorhees 6-4, 6-1.
Mount Markham (4-1, 8-1) also won the top two singles matches as Alex Gifford stayed unbeaten blanking Andy Smith 6-0, 6-0.
Evan Carney also stayed unbeaten by also blanking Tyler Matteson.
Westmoreland (1-3, 3-4) won at third singles with Tyler Witter beating Alex Wrobel 6-1, 6-3 and at first doubles where Mike Hartwell and T.J. Losowski edged David Laymon and Anthony Stock 6-4, 6-3.

HERKIMER — Sauquoit did not drop a set as it beat the Magicians in a CSC East match.
The closest match on the day came at third singles where the Magicians’ Mike Carcione was edged by Tyler Scagle 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).
Sauquoit’s other two singles players breezed to wins as Nick Tuttle beat Robert Murphy 6-0, 6-2 and Diego Solano beat Colby Plunkett 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, John Marchione and Dan Purcell beat Ron Ward and Dylon Plunkett 6-3, 7-5 and Keith Brockett and Paul Brockett stopped Don Coleman and Paul Grubner 6-0, 6-2.

COOPERSTOWN — Ilion played Cooperstown tough in two of the three singles matches in losing a CSC East match.
Matt Boyd lost to Griffin Soule 6-3, 6-4 at second singles and Anthony Schrader lost 6-3, 6-3 to Ali Angerer at third singles in Ilion’s best bids at taking a point.
At first singles, Brian Kent beat Jeff Near 6-0, 6-3.
In doubles, Eric Jederlinic and Austin Lewis defeated Brian Ziemann and Drew Alexander 6-4, 6-1 and Virginia Ofer and Evan King beat Lingy Lin and Jeremiah Gantz 6-2, 6-0.
