With Sarah Sullivan and Brett Risi leading their teams in competition on Thursday, the Bombers boys and girls won 4-1 against Canastota in their final regular season match.
Ilion’s boys (8-2, 2-4) had one of their highest team totals of the season, posting a 2,783. That was 307 pins better than the Raiders 2,476.
Helping the boys to that total was terrific scores from Risi, Brian Maine and Colin Hale. Risi led his team with a 664, never bowling below a 200 in any game (215, 239, 211). After him was Maine with a 570 (154, 230, 186) and Hale with a 530 (170, 202, 158).
After their top three was Nate Laymon, Kyle Kozenewski and Jimmy Allen. Laymon bowled a 474 (156, 160, 158), Kozenewski bowled a 439 (204, 235) and Allen bowled a 106.
The Raiders did well in the match, having three bowlers reach 500, but in comparison to the Bombers, their effort just didn’t cut it. Steve Piatkowski bowled a 546 (156, 172, 218), Brad Hibbard bowled a 512 (199, 150, 163), Jon Hibbard bowled a 509 (142, 199, 168), Bruce Chandler bowled a 461 (181, 145, 135), A.J. Salay bowled a 318 (129, 189) and Shawn Farley bowled a 130.
For the Bomber girls (12-3, 8-2), they won their match by 175 pins. Helping them to their win was Sarah Sullivan, Rebecca Fogerty, Jennifer Sullivan, Maegan Laymon, Janell Risi and Jennifer Bluett.
In their total score of 2,153, S. Sullivan bowled a 508 (194, 144, 170), Fogerty bowled a 454 (121, 181, 152), J. Sullivan bowled a 428 (138, 143, 147), Laymon bowled a 369 (126, 125, 118), Risi bowled a 257 (172, 85) and Bluett bowled a 137.
The Raider girls posted a 1,978 in their match. Helping them to that total was Molly Campbell (439), Jessica Hofmeister (425), Jessica Campbell (401), Ashley Halsey (360) and Stephanie Emmerith (353).
Both the Bombers and the Raiders won’t bowl again until next Friday in Rome. King pins bowling Alley will host the bowling league meet at 2 p.m.
