MOHAWK 21
MOHAWK — After giving up an early forfeit at 112 pounds, Morrisville quickly took control of the match with five straight wins as it beat the Mohicans in a CSC Division I match.
Mohawk’s Titus Markwardt and Zach Hunt broke the Morrisville run with back-to-back pins to make the score 22-18, but Morrisville won weights 160-189 to put the match away.
Morrisville was able to win four of the five matches that went the distance with Ethan Morley picking up a 1-0 decision over Mohawk’s Kyle LaBarge at 135 pounds and Luke Collier winning a close 8-4 decision over Eric Ulinski at 160.
Mohawk was missing one starter with an injury and a couple other Mohicans wrestled despite being under the weather a bit.
“We were a little banged up, but I thought we wrestled better than this weekend (at the Leo J. Sammon Tournament) and I was proud of the effort out on the mat,” Mohawk coach Jeff Mower said.
