The Mt. Markham Mustangs shook off a 10-day layoff and defeated Hamilton 58-36 Friday.

Playing for the first time since losing in overtime against Little Falls Jan. 14, the Mustangs (4-9, 4-3 CSC-III) took a 30-17 halftime lead on the road. Tyler Ostrander led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points; Mike Alsante, Travis Nelson and Nate Hudson each added nine points.

Logan Bailey scored 11 points for Hamilton (3-10, 2-6 CSC-III).

Mt. Markham next plays Wednesday in Cooperstown.

VAN HORNESVILLE, N.Y. — The Owen D. Young Wildcats took the lead in the third quarter Friday and extended it in the fourth as they defeated Rome Catholic’s Redwings 63-54.

The Wildcats (8-5, 5-2 CSC-IV) got behind in the first quarter and trailed 25-22 at halftime. They took a one-point lead into the fourth quarter and outscored the Redwings (8-5, 4-4 CSC-IV) 19-13 down the stretch.

Marty Collins scored 23 points to lead Owen D. Young. Kyle Ferguson added 14 points and Dustin Monk scored 13.

Eli Smalls scored 19 points for Rome Catholic, a 64-51 winner in the teams’ previous meeting in Rome.

The Wildcats play Wednesday at Oriskany.

Joe Kelly’s 19 points led four players in double figures for the Indians (10-2, 7-2 TVL). Lucas VanRiper added 16 points, Ben Smith scored 13 and Steven Holland had 11.

Mitchell Barra scored 19 points for Laurens (7-6, 5-4 TVL).

Richfield Springs plays at home Tuesday against Worcester.
