Herkimer, N.Y. —
A Staten Island man has been charged with selling crack cocaine at an off-campus student dormitory in the village of Herkimer, police said.
Varney P. Monyardeh, 20, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony, after a “no knock” search warrant was executed by members of the Herkimer Police Special Response Team on Dec. 7 at Monyardeh’s dorm room on Third Avenue.
Police confiscated crack cocaine and packaging materials in the search warrant.
Monyardeh was arraigned in Herkimer Village Court and was remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond, police said.
Herkimer police were assisted by the Herkimer County District Attorney’s Office in the investigation.
