NBC has ordered the flashback-friendly comedy Brenda Forever to pilot, the network announced on Wednesday.

Brenda Forever interweaves stories from Brenda Miller's past and present to show how a chubby, awkward, but incredibly confident 13-year-old grew up to be a 31-year-old woman who still does things her own way.

The single-camera comedy was written by David Lampson and ex-Bones serial killer Andrew Leeds, who will also executive-produce with Rescue Me's Peter Tolan and Michael Wimer.

No casting decisions have been made, but Deadline reports that The Office's Ellie Kemper is circling the starring role. When TVGuide.com talked to Kemper in December, she sounded eager to return to TV soon after The Office wraps this spring. "I'm excited to read scripts this January and February and see what is out there. I think television is getting better and better," she said. "I would love to keep working in television, possibly next year, I hope."

Do you want Kemper to return to TV next season?
