  • Patrick J. Ingerham “Hammer”, age 60, of Loomis Street, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Little Falls Hospital.
He was born on January 8, 1953, in Ilion, a son of the late Albert W. and Rose Tamburro Ingerham. A lifelong area resident, he was educated in Herkimer schools. For many years, he was employed as a chef in various restaurants throughout the valley. In more recent years, he worked at McGill’s restaurant.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed refinishing furniture, listening to music, as well as spending time tending his vegetable and flower gardens. Patrick was known for being quite the jokester, especially with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as an easy going man who enjoyed doing for others and asking nothing in return. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his companion of over twenty-six years, Gale DeLuca, of Little Falls; his son, James Paul Bennett and his wife, Jessica, of North Port, FL; four brothers, Thomas Ingerham, of Frankfort, Donald Ingerham and his wife, Dorothy, Anthony Ingerham and his wife, Katherine, all of Herkimer, James Ingerham and his wife, Susan, of Mohawk;  two sisters, Delores Smith and Nancy Krouse, both of Herkimer;  two grandchildren, Ethan and Aiden Bennett, of Florida; a very special niece and  Godchild, Crystal Krouse, of Herkimer; and close friends, Lee Moshier, of East Herkimer, and Gary Hawkins “Fire” and Carl View, both of Herkimer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John, Charles and William Ingerham, Katherine Ingerham, Rose Lyga and Joann Mason; and his close friend, Nick Stastilli.
Funeral service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Herkimer.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, Hospice and Palliative Care, and Little Falls Hospital for the care and kindness shown to Patrick during his illness.
