Explain what you enjoy most about your sport and athletics.
What I enjoy most about playing sports is that sports gave me goals to work towards. I feel as though they taught me how to be a leader, rather than a follower. They also taught me very important life lessons, that sometimes we win and sometimes we lose but as long as we play our best that’s all that really matters.
What is your most memorable athletic moment?
My most memorable athletic moment happened just this year. My brother and I played baseball together. One game I broke my arm and unfortunately I was out for the rest of the season. Our team made it to sectionals and my brother was called on to pitch the first game. Although I was unable to be on the field to play, I tried to help from within the dugout. It became a very close game in the top of the seventh inning, so I as a teammate and brother tried to help the team by calling pitches. The last batter came up to the plate with two outs and two men on. As I called the pitches, my brother followed through and struck the batter out to win the sectional game.
Tell us about someone who inspires you in sports and why
My father inspired me to do well in sports. When I was little he would work with me on baseball until I had mastered whatever part of the game that we were working on.
What are your greatest challenges balancing academics and sports?
The biggest challenges in balancing sports and school is the studying for the AP exams and going to practice and the games. It’s very hard to come home and study after a game win or lose.
What are your plans after graduating from high school?
I plan on going to MVCC for their Radiology program.
