  • Frank P. Danielski, 87, formerly of Herkimer Street, died on March 12, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.

  • Frank P. Danielski, 87, formerly of Herkimer Street, died on March 12, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.
    Mr. Danielski was born on April 24, 1925, in Middleville, a son of the late Peter and Julia (Diminski) Danielski. He received his education in local schools and entered the U.S. Navy in 1943. Frank served in the European Theater during World War II and was honorably discharged at the rank of Seaman First Class in 1946. On May 10, 1957, he was united in marriage with the former Barbara A. Geer in Newport. At an early age, he worked as a farmer and painter. Frank was employed at the former Middleville Tannery until it closed and then at Ellithorpe Tannery in Gloversville until retiring in 1986.
    He served as a fireman with the E.W. Corey Hose Company, Middleville, and was a former member of Middleville Memorial Post #7220 V.F.W. and the Herkimer Polish Club. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
    Survivors besides his wife of 55 years, Barbara, include two sons, Frank Daniel Danielski and his wife, Laura, of Little Falls, and David Danielski, of Utica; two grandchildren, Michael Danielski, of Little Falls, and Melissa Miles and her husband, Mike, of Salisbury; three great-grandchildren, Alicia, Chloe and Kevin; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Nan Roesler, and a special nephew, Bob Grzanowicz. He was predeceased by five sisters, Stella Dykeman, Helen Grzanowicz, Bertha Pryme, Sophie Tucker and Mary Jane DeKalb; and by three brothers, Zig, William and John Danielski.
    A private graveside service will be held at the Middleville Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family in the spring. There are no calling hours.
    Sincere thanks are extended to the staff at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, for the compassionate care provided to Frank and his family during the past three years.
