  • Nancy Norma Crim, age 61, of South Main Street, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2013, in Valley Health Services. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.
Nancy was born on June 28, 1952, in Ilion, daughter of the late Leonard and Norma Snyder Crim. A lifelong area resident, she was raised and educated in West Winfield. In her adult years, she lived in Ilion until 1998, when she moved to Herkimer. Nancy had worked as a clothing arranger for the Good Will Store in Herkimer and, more recently, she worked as an adult day care worker in Little Falls.
Nancy had a strong belief in God and regularly attended Saints Anthony and Joseph Church in Herkimer. In her leisure time, she enjoyed caring for animals and spending time with her family. To all who knew her, she was a caring, loving and helpful person. She found much satisfaction in doing for others. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, especially her devoted companion, Mike Wood.
Surviving are her four brothers, Richard Crim and his wife, Marie, of Cedarville, Gary Crim, Larry Crim and his companion, Mary Lou, and Leo Crim and his wife, Linda, all of Ilion; five sisters, Donna Skinner and her companion, Ed, of Texas, Karen Holbert, of Winter Garden, Florida, Deborah Richards and her companion, Louie, of Ilion, and Diane Armstrong and her husband, David, of West Winfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Crim.
Calling hours for Nancy will be on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home, 115 Court St., Herkimer. Funeral service will take place immediately after at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Reverend Thomas Lawless, pastor of Saints Anthony and Joseph's Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or the Herkimer Area Resource Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Nancy's family wishes to thank her many friends, Hospice Palliative Care, the staff at Valley Health Services and Mike’s family for the care and compassion shown to Nancy during this difficult time. It was deeply appreciated.
