Richard was born on December 15, 1945, in Herkimer a son of the late Walter and Sophie (Danielski) Tucker. He graduated from West Canada Valley Central School with the Class of 1963. Richard then entered the U. S. Navy where he proudly served aboard the USS Coral Sea and USS Constellation during the Vietnam War. In 1966, he was honorably discharged at the rank of ATN3. Affectionately known as “Dicky T” or the “Morehouse Hermit”, he was especially pleased that he was able to spend his last years at his home on a lake in the Adirondacks. He found joy in the smallest things and always looked forward, never complaining. Richard was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, kayaking and fishing. He was also interested in collecting books, traveling, anything to do with trains and eBay. Richard was an excellent cook and always looked forward to preparing a new recipe for his family. He also enjoyed cheering on his New York Giants. Richard was a member of the Morehouse Lake Club and of the Catholic faith. He was a former member of the Kuyahoora Valley Historical Society and was pleased to provide postcards from his collection for the publishing of “Kuyahoora Towns”.
