  • Robert M. DeCarr, 41, of Colonial Court, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

  • Robert M. DeCarr, 41, of Colonial Court, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
    Born in Herkimer, he was the son of Robert and Margaret Massaro DeCarr of Herkimer. Bob was a 1989 graduate of Herkimer High School and was also a graduate of Herkimer Community College, Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, and SUNY Institute of Technology in Utica. Bob has been employed for the past ten years by Target and was the store manager of their Latham store. Prior to that, he was employed with Harris-Teeter, a grocery chain in the South.
    Bob was totally dedicated to his family and his work. He especially enjoyed being involved in his boys' baseball programs and dancing with his daughter at her annual father-daughter dance. He was a communicant of St. Edward's Church in Clifton Park.
    Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his devoted wife, Kelly King DeCarr, and his loving children, Carter G. DeCarr, ShelbyRose DeCarr and Grady R. DeCarr. He is the brother of Frank DeCarr of Mohawk and Cathy Maxwell (Bill) of Little Falls. Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Ann Massaro, of Herkimer; paternal grandfather, Robert DeCarr, of Ilion; his mother and father-in-law, Ron and Jill King, of Little Falls; as well as several nieces and nephews.
    A Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Herkimer. Relatives and friends may visit with Bob's family at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford, on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
