  • State police on Wednesday continued their investigation into a shooting and reported home invasion that occurred Tuesday night in the town of Norway.
Police said they were called to a home on Ryan Road in Norway at about 10 p.m. Tuesday and found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the arm.
The victim, Scott Guyer, was taken to a hospital in Syracuse, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
Guyer reportedly told police he was shot by two men who broke into the home wearing black ski masks and then fled.
He was not able to provide detailed descriptions of the men or their vehicle, police said.
Other members of Guyer's family were home at the time of the incident, but were in other rooms and did not witness the shooting, police said. No one else was injured.
Police set up a perimeter around the neighborhood immediately after receiving the report, but no suspects were taken into custody. A forensic investigation unit also was called to the scene and investigators are still in the process of interviewing possible witnesses, police said.
Police said they do not believe there is any danger to other residents in the area at this time.
