  • Stanley Danielak, 91, of Herkimer, passed away peacefully Feb. 24, 2013, at his residence.

  • Stanley Danielak, 91, of Herkimer, passed away peacefully Feb. 24, 2013, at his residence.
    He was born on Jan. 15, 1922, in Herkimer, the son of the late Michael and Rose (Kilenan) Danielak, and was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1940. Stanley served in the United States Army during World War II. On Sept. 3, 1949, he married the former Ann Sokol in Herkimer.
    Prior to his retirement, he was employed with ConTel, Gloversville. Stanley enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially taking hikes and spending time on the farm.
    He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Ann; his daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Geoffrey Slack, of Mastic Beach, and Rosanne and Thomas Kenney, of Baldwinsville; his grandchildren, William Slack and his wife, Ashley, of Columbus, Ga., Mary Slack, of Mastic Beach,  and Luke Kenney, of Baldwinsville;  and several nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by his brother, Leo Danielak, and his sister, Stephanie Humphrey.
    In keeping with Stanley’s wishes, his funeral was held privately at the family’s convenience. The family has asked to kindly consider contributions, in Stanley’s memory, to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502 or the Alzheimer’s Association Central New York, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204-1361.
