Main St. and confiscated additional packets of the same material.
Ali was charged with one count of sale of a synthetic substance and two counts of possession of synthetic substances, police said.
The charges cite a local ordinance enacted earlier this year when the area saw an influx of incidents where individuals under the influence of similar substances needed medical attention, police said.
Federal and state bans on synthetic substances have slowed the distribution, but it remains a focus for local law enforcement, police said.
