  • Raffaeline "Dolly" Piper, 89, a lifelong Herkimer resident, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer.
Born in Herkimer on Feb. 17, 1924, Dolly was the daughter of the late George and Raffaela (Servadio) Alfano. Raised and educated locally, she was a 1942 graduate of Herkimer High School. Piper and wife, Torrie, of California; a daughter, Jean Marie Rosenthal and husband, Stuart, of New Jersey; her cherished grandchildren, Danielle, Alicia and Andrew Rosenthal, and Alexander, Matthew and Christopher Piper; a sister-in-law, Millie Piper, of Mohawk; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, John Alfano.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass to be held on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. in Saints Anthony & Joseph Church, South Main Street, Herkimer, celebrated by Rev. Thomas Lawless, pastor. Inurnment will immediately follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
