  • Sarah Alexander scored two girls early Monday and the Ilion Golden Bombers defeated Mohawk 2-0 on the road.



    The win keeps Ilion’s record perfect in Division I of the Center State Conference while the loss was the first of the season for Mohawk’s Mohicans.

    Sarah Alexander scored two girls early Monday and the Ilion Golden Bombers defeated Mohawk 2-0 on the road.
    The win keeps Ilion’s record perfect in Division I of the Center State Conference while the loss was the first of the season for Mohawk’s Mohicans.
    Annie Millar earned the shutout with defensive help from Sarah Edwards, Nikki Doolen, Kathleen Kramas and Janelle Cobb. Millar made 10 saves for the Golden Bombers (5-1-0, 5-0-0 CSC-I).
    Cobb assisted on one Alexander goal and Meagan Laymon set up the other. Both came in the opening 15 minutes of play.
    Barb Paul had 17 saves for the Mohicans (4-1-1, 3-1-0 CSC-I).
    Ilion travels to Frankfort-Schuyler Wednesday and Mohawk is on the road against West Canada Valley.
    HERKIMER 1, DOLGEVILLE 1, tie
    EAST HERKIMER, N.Y. — Herkimer’s Magicians played the Dolgeville Blue Devils to a 1-1 draw in overtime Monday.
    The Magicians (0-4-2, 0-3-1 CSC-I) trailed 1-0 at halftime and tied the score in the 44th minute on a goal scored by Samantha Carswell with an assist from Sarah Kinney.
    Dolgeville had put the first goal on the scoreboard 11 1/2 minutes into the match when a penalty kick was awarded for having Katelyn Lyon taken down inside the box. Lyon converted on the kick with a high shot to the left corner.
    Herkimer had a 24-7 edge in shots. Renee Johnson made 13 saves for Dolgeville. Erica Plumley made five saves and Brianne Bello had two in the second half for Herkimer.
    The Magicians play on the road Wednesday against Owen D. Young.
    FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 4, WEST CANADA VALLEY 1
    FRANKFORT, N.Y. — Alexandra Palumbo scored all four Frankfort-Schuyler goals Monday in the Maroon Knights’ 4-1 win over West Canada Valley’s Indians.
    The Maroon Knights led 3-1 at halftime and shut the Indians out in the second half.
    Marisa Nizzi, Kathryn Tamburro and Julia Zito each assisted once on a goal scored by Palumbo and Jamie McCumber made 13 saves for the Maroon Knights (2-4-0, 2-2-0 CSC-I).
    Jennie Maxwell scored for West Canada Valley (2-4-0, 1-3-0 CSC-I) and Courtney Phillips made 13 saves.
    Frankfort-Schuyler plays at home again Wednesday with a 6 p.m. start against Ilion. West Canada Valley is home Wednesday for a match against Mohawk.
    LITTLE FALLS 2, ADIRONDACK 2, tie
    LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — The Little Falls Mounties and Adirondack Wildcats traded goals within one minute in the second overtime period Monday and played to a 2-2 tie at Monroe Street Field.
    Katie Kaiding broke a 1-all tie with a goal for Adirondack with 5:40 remaining in the second 10-minute period of overtime play. Thirty-five seconds later, the Mounties got a goal from Sara Piana and the teams were once again tied.
    Page 2 of 2 - The second deadlock would not be broken.
    Adirondack led 1-0 at halftime on a goal scored by Morgan Weiler.
    Little Falls (1-5-1, 1-3-1 CSC-III) tied the score in the 74th minute of action with a goal scored by Nicole Foti.
    The Mounties are home again Friday for a match with Remsen.
    POLAND 6, OLD FORGE 0
    POLAND, N.Y. — Paige Sullivan scored three goals for Poland Monday in the Tornadoes’ 6-0 shutout of the Old Forge Eskimos.
    The Tornadoes (4-1-0, 4-1-0 CSC-III) led 2-0 at halftime and got seven saves from Jordyn Gauthier in the shutout.
    Morgen Irwin and Alyssa Lepper each had a goal and an assist for Poland, Brittany Green scored a goal and MaryKate Graulich contributed an assist.
    Jessica Menges made 14 saves for Old Forge (2-3-0).
    Poland’s next match is Friday at home against Rome Catholic.
    MT. MARKHAM 3, CANASTOTA 0
    CANASTOTA, N.Y. — Tori Roberts and Angela Bartlett combined to make six saves Monday as Mt. Markham’s unbeaten  Mustangs dealt the Canastota Raiders a 3-0 defeat on the road.
    Roberts made one save and Bartlett finished up with five in relief. Alissa Diffels scored a pair of goals for the Mustangs (6-0-0, 5-0-0 CSC-II) and Rochelle DiNigro had one. Megan Peterson and Emily Ward each contributed an assist.
    Val Baer made 25 saves for Canastota (0-3-1, 0-2-1 CSC-II).
    Mt. Markham plays on the road again Wednesday at Hamilton.
