Johnnie Davis scored 15 points to lead Herkimer County Community College Thursday in the Generals’ 55-31 victory over SUNY-Delhi’s second-ranked Broncos.
The Generals (9-1) had also been ranked in the top five in NJCAA’s Division III poll before suffering their only loss at Finger Lakes Community College Feb. 13. They have now won five games in a row.
Herkimer led 24-15 at halftime Thursday and spread the scoring around. Jonathan Feiler had 10 points, Demetrius Mitchell scored nine on three three-point shots and Jerome Floyd added eight.
Stefan Bock scored seven points to lead the previously unbeaten Broncos (10-1). Delhi was held to less than half of its average of 68 points per game. The Broncos shot 12-for-56 from the field and 1-for-19 from three-point range against a stingy Herkimer defense.
The Generals take on Division I Westchester Community College Saturday at the Monroe Community College Invitational.
