    Trailing after three quarters on the road Friday, the Herkimer Magicians scored 26 points in the fourth and defeated Canastota 64-57 for their first win of the season.

    Trailing after three quarters on the road Friday, the Herkimer Magicians scored 26 points in the fourth and defeated Canastota 64-57 for their first win of the season.
    Dan Graziadei tied the game with a jump shot from the foul line with less than three minutes left to play. Demetrius Brown followed with a steal and a layup to put the Magicians (1-2) ahead to stay.
    Mitchell Scherer and Adrian Viscomi had key baskets in the final minute and combined to shot 7-for-8 at the foul line for Herkimer.
    Viscomi scored 16 points to lead the Magicians while Brown added 13 and Scherer scored 10.
    Jon Halsey had 16 points, eight steals and six rebounds for Canastota (0-3) which scored 20 points in the second quarter and led by three at halftime. Elijah Motley added 12 points and five steals.
    Herkimer opens Division II play in the Center State Conference with a home game Tuesday against Frankfort-Schuyler.
