    Carson Murphy had 24 points an 13 rebounds Wednesday in the Mohawk Mohicans’ 74-41 win over the Ilion Golden Bombers.

    Carson Murphy had 24 points an 13 rebounds Wednesday in the Mohawk Mohicans’ 74-41 win over the Ilion Golden Bombers.
    The Mohicans (12-1) outscored Ilion (8-4) 16-7 in the second quarter and opened a 15-point halftime lead on their way to a second win over their potential future teammates. The schools were part of proposed three- and four-district mergers that were rejected voters over the last 12 months and have a two-way proposal to be voted on in February.
    Kainan McCarthy added 12 points and 16 rebounds for Mohawk. Mike Santillo and Paul Joyce scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, and Brandon Brault had eight off the bench.
    Herschel Ivey led the Golden Bombers with 11 points. Ryan Lachacz had eight points and 12 rebounds.

    DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. — The Westmoreland Bulldogs ended a nine-game losing streak Wednesday with a 54-44 victory over the Dolgeville Blue Devils.
    John Gerace scored 25 points for the Bulldogs (2-10) whose previous victory was Dec. 6 at home against Dolgeville. Tyler Taverne added 15 points and Jack Acquaviva had 10.
    J.J. Dineen and Shane Jaquay each scored 10 points and Brandon Lewandowski had nine for Dolgeville (0-11).

    Adrian Viscomi scored 15 points to lead the Magicians (3-9) and Malik Briggs grabbed eight rebounds.
    Jon Halsey scored nine points and Matt Russitano had eight for Canastota (2-8).

    Dave Sblendorio scored 19 point for Rome Catholic (8-3) while Connor Marchione and Eli Smalls added 14 and 13, respectively.
    Mark Spina led the Maroon Knights (2-9)  with 18 points and Mitch Shortt scored 14.

    ORISKANY, N.Y. — The West Canada Valley Indians outscored Oriskany in all four quarters Wednesday and beat the Redskins 76-54 on the road.
    Four players scored in double figures for the Indians (10-3) who defeated the Redskins (7-5) for the second time this season. Jordan Yaworski led West Canada Valley with 15 points, Jack Minasi added 14, Alex Williams had 13 and Mike Sternberg scored 11. Ryan Grogan chipped in with nine points and Bobby Davenport scored eight.
    Austin Smith scored 14 points for Oriskany. Ryan Schmadel and Cody Murphy each had eight points.

    MILFORD, N.Y. — Milford’s Wildcats outscored Richfield Springs 17-2 in the second quarter Wednesday and defeated the Indians 56-45.
    The Wildcats (8-2, 7-0 TVL) had trailed after the first quarter but took the lead before halftime and dealt Richfield Springs (8-2, 5-2 TVL) its second straight defeat.
    Peyton Griffiths scored 17 points for Milford. Max Lang added 12 points and 15 rebounds.
    Joe Kelly led Richfield Springs with 10.
