  • Two Herkimer men have been arrested in connection with a church break-in earlier this month, village police said.
Stephen Dennison, 34, and Steven Rogers Jr., 25, both of 210 N. Main St., are accused of breaking into New Life Church on Protection Avenue on Dec. 5 and stealing several items, including a coin collection, a digital camcorder, a video gaming system and a bass guitar, police said.
Police said Dennison and Rogers entered the church through a window during the night.
Both men are charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny, police said.
Dennison is being held without bail in Herkimer County jail on unrelated charges.
Rogers was also sent to jail with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond, police said.
A majority of the stolen property has been recovered, police said.
    The investigation is ongoing.
