  • Cynthia L. Groulx, 54, of West Walnut Street, passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with her loving relatives and friends at her side, on Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

  • Cynthia L. Groulx, 54, of West Walnut Street, passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with her loving relatives and friends at her side, on Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
    Cynthia was born on Nov. 8, 1958, in Rome, a daughter of the late Charles and Cathryn (Gilbert) Groulx. She attended Herkimer schools and was a graduate of the class of 1976, then went on to Herkimer County Community College and Geneseo College.
    Cyndi was employed as a senior Medicaid service coordinator for Herkimer ARC. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church, HARC Guardianship Committee and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
    She is survived by her brothers, Charles, Jr., of Knoxville, Tenn., Carl and his wife, Gail, of Canada, and Christopher, of Herkimer. She was a loving aunt and great-aunt to Carl, Brandon, Jeremy, Shane, Cheyanne, Connor, Lucas and Cathryn, and they are saddened by her untimely passing. She also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends, Evelyn Remmers and Nancy Schneegas. Cyndi was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Cathryn.
    Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 1, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion (town of Frankfort). Her funeral will be held at a time to be announced. Interment will take place in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, West German Street, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.
    Cyndi's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Nancy Schneegas, Evelyn and Kim Remmers, and her many friends who spent time with her while she was in the hospital.
