  • Mary D. Servadio, 83, of McKennan Road, Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, with her loving family by her side.

  • Mary D. Servadio, 83, of McKennan Road, Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, with her loving family by her side.
    She was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Little Falls, the daughter of Josephine LaPorta DiGristina, and was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy.
    Her marriage to Sam Servadio took place on Aug. 13, 1949, at St. Joseph's Church in Little Falls.
    Mary was last employed at Herkimer County Community College.
    She was a member of the Church of Saints Anthony & Joseph in Herkimer.
    A devoted matriarch, Mary was selfless in her dedication to her family, providing a loving and caring home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, camping, boating, painting and knitting.
    Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, Sam; a son, Sam D. Servadio and wife, Barbara, of Lake Placid; two daughters, Claudia Coyne and husband, Thomas, of New Hartford, and Holly Catalina and husband, Michael, of Dolgeville; six grandchildren, Ariel Servadio, Max Coyne, Christian Coyne, Chancellor Coyne, Madison Coyne and Jesse Catalina; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Josephine; a brother, Nat Digristina; as well as several special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 8:45 a.m. from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi and Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 9:30 a.m. from the Church of Saints Anthony & Joseph, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Thomas Lawless, pastor. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, 866-1500.
    The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of St. Elizabeth ICU for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Mary during her stay. All memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, ICU, 2209 Genesee St., Utica, NY 13501. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
