    The Little Falls Mounties clinched the Center State Conference’s Division II title outright with Friday’s 14-4 win over the Herkimer Magicians.

    The Little Falls Mounties clinched the Center State Conference’s Division II title outright with Friday’s 14-4 win over the Herkimer Magicians.
    The Mounties (10-2, 8-1 CSC-II) tallied six runs in the second inning and never trailed. They have won eight consecutive games since an April 17 loss at Frankfort-Schuyler and lead the Maroon Knights by three games and Herkimer by 3 1/2 with only Monday’s home contest against West Canada Valley left on the schedule.
    Tyler Baumeister had a double and a triple among Little Falls’ four extra-base hit and nine total hits Friday.
    Ryan Fahy homered for Herkimer (6-6, 4-4 CSC-II).
    The Magicians are home Monday for a game against Frankfort-Schuyler. They also have a league game to make up against Dolgeville.

    NEWPORT, N.Y. — Zach Woods pitched a three-hitter for West Canada Valley Friday and the Indians scored seven runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Dolgeville Blue Devils 7-2.
    The Blue Devils had led 1-0 before West Canada Valley’s big inning. Dolgeville added a run in the top of the seventh.

    FRANKFORT, N.Y. — The Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights had 15 hits — all singles — in Friday’s 7-4 win over the Mohawk Mohicans.
    The Maroon Knights took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the first inning and added singe runs in each of the next three frames.
    Joe Juliano went 4-for-4 for Frankfort-Schuyler.
