  • Our loving son, Zackary Stephen Scott Edwards, 23, of the town of Fairfield, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on Sunday May 5, 2013.
    He was born April 28, 1990, in Little Falls, the son of Richard and Amy (Ashley) Edwards. Zack was a graduate of West Canada Valley High School, class of 2009.
    Zack was a proud United States Marine veteran serving overseas in Afghanistan.
    He was employed at Remington Arms in Ilion and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer.
    Zack was a loving son, brother, grandson and nephew, who could light up a room with his smile, his sense of humor was unique and making people laugh was one of his gifts. In his leisure time Zackary was an avid outdoorsman enjoying snowboarding and being with his many friends.
    Survivors include his parents, Richard and Amy, of the town of Fairfield; his paternal grandfather, Richard Edwards, of Herkimer; his maternal grandfather, Floyd (Moe) Ashley and wife, Carol, of Herkimer; a brother, Patrick Edwards, of home; a sister, Emily Edwards, of home; aunts and uncles, Todd Palmer and wife, Kelly, of Florida; Scott Ashley and companion, Kim Ryan, of Herkimer; godfather, Randy Ashley of Utica; Carri Ashley, of Herkimer; Barbara Edwards and companion, Dale Kennedy, of Fultonville, Karen Chase and companion, Richard Paul, of Herkimer, Jeffry Edwards, of Herkimer, Mary Beth Salamone – Cammann, of Stratford, and Michael Edwards and wife, Teresa, of Herkimer; many cousins and friends, his godmother, Becky Fredericks of Little Falls and his canine companion, Copper.
    He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Mary E. Edwards; maternal grandmother, Joanne E. Ashley and an uncle, Patrick Edwards.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 11, 2013, at 9:15 a.m. at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi and Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 10 a.m. from St. Francis de Sales Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Mark Cunningham, pastor. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, town of Norway. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday May 10, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 329 S.
