    The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs scored five runs with two outs in the eighth inning Friday and rallied to beat the Adirondack Trail Blazers 6-5 at the Dr. Robert Smith Athletic Complex.

    The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs scored five runs with two outs in the eighth inning Friday and rallied to beat the Adirondack Trail Blazers 6-5 at the Dr. Robert Smith Athletic Complex.
    The DiamondDawgs scored first on an overthrow in the top of the first inning and gave the run back on a throwing error in the bottom of the third.
    Adirondack added a run in the fourth inning and went up 3-1 on Tom Bouck’s home run in the fifth.
    The score went unchanged until the eighth when former Holland Patent High School and Mohawk Valley Community College right-hander Chas Parsons hit Matt Zanotta with a pitch. Trey Hunt III singled Zanotta home with two outs and Parsons walked Brett Zazinski Hunt scored the tying run when Willie Shaw’s fly ball was dropped in right field.
    Chris Rheaume relieved Parsons and struck casey Rodrigue out. The ball got away from Adirondack catcher Bobby Slagle and Rodrigue reached to load the bases. The DiamondDawgs took the lead when dexter scored on another passed ball Dalton Herrington delivered two more runs with his double down the right field line.
    Bouck singled in the bottom of the eighth and pinch-runner Riley Moonan scored when Slagle walked with the bases loaded.
    Two Mohawk Valley errors allowed Adirondack to add a run in the bottom of the ninth but Moonan hit into a double play to end the game with the tying run on base.
    Eddie Broll, the second of four Mohawk pitchers, earned the victory. Patrick Michon notched his second save.
    Hunt went 4-for-5 for Mohawk Valley. Rodrigue and Landon Thibodeaux each had two hits and two of the team’s seven stolen bases.
    Bouck had three hits for Adirondack.
    The DiamondDawgs are home Saturday for a 5:05 p.m. doubleheader against Glens Falls.
