  • Rebecca “Becky” Dygert, 54, of 345 Depot Rd., West Winfield passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.

  • Rebecca “Becky” Dygert, 54, of 345 Depot Rd., West Winfield passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.
    Becky was born July 25, 1958, in Ilion, the daughter of Esther Tucker Rickard and the late Richard Rickard, and received her education in the Mohawk Central School and De Paul School of Nursing, where she received her RN. On June 26, 1978, Becky was united in marriage to Gary Dygert, he has predeceased her.
    Becky was employed as a RN with various hospitals, as well as with the Madison County Department of Corrections for several years. She also taught at various times in a private elementary school, and with the BOCES Nursing Program. She had also worked in medical bill review and at ACS in Utica.
    Becky is survived by her children, David and Jackie Dygerts, of Phoenix, N.Y., Brian Dygerts of Rome, Heather and her husband Jason West, of Ilion; her brothers, Glenn and Missy Rickard, of Williamstown, W.Va., and Steven Rickard, of Port St Lucie, Fla.; her sisters, Shelly and Bryan Smith, of Mohawk, and Kathie and Sam Bianchi, of Mohawk. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Brienna and Garrett West and Sage, Vincent, Donovan, Haley, Erika, McKayla and Alexis Dygert. She is also survived by her husband’s mother, Helen Dygert, of Moira, his four brothers, two sisters and their spouses. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
    In keeping with Becky’s wishes there are no public calling hours. A memorial service will be scheduled in the spring with a date and time to be announced. Interment will be in the Bruston Cemetery, Moira.
    Friends are asked to consider memorials to the American Heart Association in Becky’s memory.
