  • Mrs. Emma M. Lovrin, 91, a long time resident of Little Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2013, at Folts Homes, with her family by her side.
Emma was born in Forest City, PA, on July 15, 1921, daughter of the late Valentine and Julia (Oster) Maver. She graduated from Forest City High School in PA.
On October 12, 1946, she was united in marriage with Edward F. Lovrin at St. Mary’s in Little Falls. Together they shared a loving union of over 66 years.
Emma had many hobbies including being an avid gardener, talented knitter and a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed sharing her endeavors with her family, friends and neighbors. She most enjoyed showing others how to make her Slovenian breads and treats so that they could continue to enjoy them any time. Especially her Slovenian Petitsa (nut bread) or Pohanje (bowties).
She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward F. Lovrin, of Folts Homes; her sons, Robert Lovrin and his wife, Karen, of Loudenville, and James Lovrin and his wife, Sandra, of Little Falls; her four grandchildren, Jacqueline Battisti and her husband, Jeffrey, of Rush, NY, Russell Lovrin and his wife, Linda, of New Hartford, Erica Lovrin and Fallon Lovrin, of Loudenville, NY; her two great-grandchildren, Brendan and Dakota Battisti; her sister-in-law, Eileen Brin, of Valley Health Services; and many other family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, William Maver; and by her sisters, Margaret Sperbeck and Clara Maver.
In keeping with Emma’s wishes, there are no calling hours. A graveside religious service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013, at St. Mary's Cemetery with Deacon Joe DiLorenzo officiating.
The family is being cared for by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, Harry J. Enea and John P. Lewandowski, Funeral Directors.
