  • Police: Remington Arms employee placed camera in women’s restroom

  • A Frankfort man faces an unlawful surveillance charge in connection with an incident in the women’s restroom at Remington Arms, according to Ilion police.

    Justyn A. Lawrence, 25, of East Avenue, was charged with felony second-degree unlawful surveillance after his cell phone was located in the ceiling of the women’s restroom at the Arms.

  • A Frankfort man faces an unlawful surveillance charge in connection with an incident in the women’s restroom at Remington Arms, according to Ilion police.
    Justyn A. Lawrence, 25, of East Avenue, was charged with felony second-degree unlawful surveillance after his cell phone was located in the ceiling of the women’s restroom at the Arms.
    Ilion police said they responded on May 11 to a complaint that a cell phone had been located in the ceiling, positioned to record a view of a toilet.
    After an investigation, they arrested Lawrence on May 14.
    He was arraigned in village court and committed to the Herkimer County jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bail bond. Lawrence is scheduled to reappear in village court May 16 at 5 p.m.
    Lawrence was an employee at Remington at the time of the incident.
    At this time it does not appear there are any additional victims, however, Ilion police are continuing their investigation.
    Remington Arms security and Ilion police have completed an inspection of all restrooms in the Remington Arms plant and have not located any additional recording devices.
