  • New Hartford police are asking for anyone who gave a Mohawk man money for jobs that were never completed to contact them.
    Joseph D. Holleran, 34, of state Route 168, was arrested on Jan. 30 after he allegedly accepted $800 as part of a contracting scam.
    Holleran allegedly placed a Craigslist advertisement for handyman services and accepted a deposit for a roofing repair job. According to the complaint, Holleran never purchased any materials for the job or started it.
    He was taken into custody by the Ilion Police Department during a traffic stop.
    Holleran was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in New Hartford Village Court and was remanded to Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
