    The Herkimer Magicians defeated Mohawk by two points the first time the teams met this season. They beat the Mohicans by three in Saturday’s rematch.
    The Magicians (10-7, 5-4 CSC-II), who ended the teams’ Jan. 4 game with a 14-0 run, never trailed in the fourth quarter Saturday and won 41-38 on the road. Herkimer trailed 24-22 at the half but outscored Mohawk (2-15, 1-8 CSC-II) 6-2 in the third quarter to take the lead.
    Chelsea Jory scored the first eight points of the second half for Herkimer and led the Magicians with 16. Herkimer held a 37-30 lead with 3 1/2 minutes left to play before Lindsey LeClair hit a three-pointer for Mohawk and Rachael Thorp added two free throws to bring the Mohicans back within two points. A basket by Jory made it a two-possession game again and Emily Avery made two foul shots for a five-point edge in the final minute.
    The Magicians struggled at the foul line, shooting 5-for-17 overall and 2-for-10 in the final three minutes.
    Jory grabbed 11 rebounds to complete a double-double for Herkimer. Hannah DeLude scored nine points and Maxine Grogan had four steals.
    LeClair had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Mohawk. Meredith McMann added 10 points while Audrey Bunce had six points and 12 rebounds.
    Herkimer finishes the regular season with a game at Little Falls Thursday. Mohawk ends the season at home Friday against Frankfort-Schuyler.

    CANASTOTA 38, ILION 36, overtime
    ILION, N.Y. — Ilion’s Golden Bombers shook off a fourth-quarter Canastota rally Saturday afternoon and forced overtime but the Raiders emerged with a 38-36 victory.
    The Golden Bombers (7-9, 2-6 CSC-I) had led by eight points entering the fourth quarter but needed a Nicole Doolen-assisted three-point shot form Sydney Putnam to send the game into overtime at the buzzer.
    Putnam scored nine points on three three-pointers. Emily LaLonde led Ilion with 13 points and Doolen added eight.
    Shea Foster, who recently set the career scoring record at Canastota (7-9, 4-4 CSC-I) and broke the school’s single-game record in January, had 22 points.
    Ilion has a game at home Tuesday against Sherburne-Earlville.

    SHERBURNE-EARLVILLE 64, MT. MARKHAM 33
    WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. — The Sherburne-Earlville Marauders outscored Mt. Markham 22-5 in the first quarter and ran away with a 64-33 win Saturday.
    Savannah Irwin scored 12 points and led four players in double figures for the Marauders (11-4). Mikayla Solloway scored 11 points while Jordan VanAlthuis and Lilly Berg each had 10.
    Morgan Westbrook scored 12 points for the Mustangs (2-13).
    Mt. Markham plays Tuesday at Sauquoit Valley.
