  • Daniel W. Hogan, 68, of 536 Travis Road, Jordanville, passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, on Monday, February 19, 2013.

  • Daniel W. Hogan, 68, of 536 Travis Road, Jordanville, passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, on Monday, February 19, 2013.
    He was born on July 24, 1944, in the Bronx, NY, the son of the late Everett and Bertha (Kuntzsch) Hogan. He was educated in the NYC schools.
    He was united in marriage to his wife of 12 years, the former Rose Marie Grescheck, on February 28, 2001.
    Mr. Hogan was a veteran of the US Army. Entering the service on August 17, 1965, in Queens, NY, he was honorably discharged on July 31, 1967.
    He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the American Legion Post #25.
    Mr. Hogan was employed for 27 years as a climber and pruner for the City of New York Parks and Recreation Department, NYC, until his retirement in 1996.
    He is survived by his wife, Rose; his daughter, Dina Quigley and her husband, Kenneth, South Ozone Park, NY; his son, Daniel (Danny Boy) Hogan, FL; brother, Teddy Stretmayer and his wife, Carol, Glendale, NY; sister, Nancy Washburn, Starkville; a stepdaughter, Heather Wolff and her husband, Troy, FL; three grandchildren, Kenny Quigley and Austin and Dane Wolff; and several nieces and nephews.
    Graveside services will be held in the spring at VanHornesville Cemetery, VanHornesville, at a time and date to be announced.
    Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls.
    It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Hogan be considered to the Disabled American Veterans, 344 West Genesee Street, Suite 203, Syracuse, NY 13202 or to the VanHornesville Vol. Fire Dept., Main Street, VanHornesville, NY 13820. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
