  • Donna Mae Crocker passed away peacefully on Saturday morning May 18, 2013, after an extended illness. She had the comfort and support of her loving family by her side.

  • Donna Mae Crocker passed away peacefully on Saturday morning May 18, 2013, after an extended illness. She had the comfort and support of her loving family by her side.
    Donna was born in Utica and was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Cahill. A lifelong area resident she was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Saint Francis de Sales High School.
    On June 25, 1960 she was united in marriage with Frederick H. Crocker at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. Together they made their home in Herkimer and shared a loving and devoted union of 51 years until his passing on September 1, 2011.
    Donna had a strong faith in God and was a member of Saint Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer.
    In her leisure time, she along with her husband, were avid golfers. For thirteen years, they spent the colder months at their winter home at the Wyndemere Golf Community in Naples, FL. She also enjoyed playing Mahjong and Bridge with her friends. Donna was a member of the Mohawk Valley Center of the Arts where she displayed a real talent for painting.
    To all who knew her, family was first in her life. So special are the many memories of great vacations and times that they all shared together. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren.
    Surviving are her three daughters and their husbands, Karen and Christopher Doyle, of Preston, CT, Linda and Kim Lefebvre, of Niskayuna, Kathleen and Thomas Caffrey, of Glenville; two sisters and their husbands, Barbara and Henry Wind, Suzanne and Jack Sergott, all of Englewood, FL; six grandchildren, Colleen and Meaghan Doyle, Stephen and Alyssa Lefebvre, Kaitlin and Brian Caffrey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Fred, she was preceded in death her brother George Cahill.
    The family will be present to receive relatives and friends at Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer on Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am In Saint Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. The Very Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
    Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to, the American Cancer Society, The Mohawk Valley Center of the Arts or Saint Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
